    ATI Nursing Admission Exam

    SUNY Canton will proctor the ATI nursing admission exam. For any questions, please email the Dean’s office at shcj@canton.edu.

    SUNY Canton requires all qualified nursing applicants to take and pass the ATI exam with a 70% or higher for program consideration. Please do not register for the ATI exam until you have received a review letter from the Admissions Office indicating you are eligible. 

    The ATI nursing admission exam (TEAS) is a tool to determine if student shave the academic skills necessary to perform effectively in a school of nursing. It is a 170 question, online, multiple choice exam that evaluates the basic reading, math, writing, and science skills of students seeking entry into a nursing program leading to licensure as a Registered Nurse. The exam is generated from an online web site and must be completed in one sitting. Students have 209 minutes to complete the exam (3 hours and 29 minutes).

    Technical requirements
      Microphone: Any microphone, either internal or external
      Webcam: 320x240 VGA resolution (minimum) internal or external
      Desktop or laptop computer (NO iPads, tablets, or phones are to be used) with the ability to download Google Chrome. To update your version of Chrome visithttps:// support.google.com/chrome/answer/95414

    Steps to Register:

    1. Create an Account at www.atitesting.com(Click HERE for Instructions)
      • The Exam is free for applicants on their first attempt. Please reference your letter from Admissions for the exam code or call 315-386-7123. 
      • Students who need to retake the TEAS will need to purchase an exam. The current cost is $71. Please contact the Dean's Office for a new code to use.
